Team FORCE was created as a response to the need to promote and expand technical and scientific knowledge within the Dominican Republic. It is our belief that the progress of our country, and the world, must ride on the driving force of engineering, science and technology, applied for a better standard of living for all. To achieve this, the spark for technical knowledge must be started and nurtured within all young students.
By participating in The FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, students learn how to design, build and operate a robot following detailed guidelines, and compete in games following strict rules and regulations. This involves applying engineering, marketing, organizational and business skills, with the help of mentors and professionals, who donate their time and knowledge.
Students not only learn valuable skills, but also, the Principles that guide FIRST®: Leadership, Competition through Cooperation, and Gracious Professionalism. Being a part of FIRST® will provide our students with invaluable skills, real world experiences, and will help them become a Force of change in our community.
